This is the decorated version of the Clear Cover, an optional, extra covering that goes directly over your Hobonichi Techo book to protect it from wear and tear over the course of the year while instantly giving solid-colour covers a fresh new look.
The illustration for “Dog Ears Fluttering in the Wind” was selected from the works of Keiko Shibata, a picture book artist and illustrator.
This piece is from a series of artworks drawn in 2022 with the theme of “wind.” A strong wind blows from the front, causing the dog’s ears to flap. You can enjoy the unique expression of the wind, making the dog’s eyes rounded and blowing the dog’s fur.
Although the design could look like a dot pattern from a distance, it actually features seven different dogs in a diagonal pattern.
The colourful design is expressed in a warm touch with oil pastels. The various colours used make it go well with Weeks in any colour.
In order to preserve the design of this illustrated Cover on Cover, there is no opening located in the back to access the back pocket of the cover.
The Cover on Cover has been specially measured for use on the Colors and printed covers with butterfly stoppers. Other covers may not fit properly into the Cover on Cover.

Hobonichi Cover on Cover [Keiko Shibata] Dog Ears Fluttering in the Wind
As a dog lover, I fell in love with this ‘cover on cover’ at first sight! The dog pattern is well distributed and still clear so you can see details underneath and it adds a touch of color at the same time. I love to add stickers and patches between the two covers!
