The Hobonichi pencil boards are specially designed to fit the A6 Planner/Original size, A5 Cousin size, and Weeks size. Keeping it underneath the page you’re writing on allows reinforcement and provides an enjoyable writing experience.

The pencil board is recommended for users who have filled their inner cover pockets with thick items or users who write with a lot of pressure and leave indentations on the opposite pages.
Good to know
The board has a graph pattern ruled into 5 millimetre squares, with one side further labeled by millimetre to act as a metric ruler, and a 'Today' tab on the corner to mark the current page if you’d like to use it as a bookmark as well.

Lovely colour, smooth surface and easy to write on. Made out of cardboard so sturdy enough to write on but still bendable unlike plastic boards.

Hobonichi Pencil Board [Navy x Pink] Original (A6)
Pencil is my writing tool for my planner as my plan can be quite flexible. However, the downside of using pencil is the transferences of pencil when writing on the back of paper. The pencil board eliminates that problem! And you can use it as a bookmark!

Hobonichi Pencil Board [Navy x Pink] Original (A6)
The design is nice (colours, grid, etc.), but the functionality leaves something to be desired. The plastic is quite soft. I was expecting something sturdier, like the Traveller's Notebook plastic boards, which are also cheaper. Still, the thinner plastic does make it more lightweight, so your mileage may vary.
More disappointing is the fact that the size isn't quite right: you either shove it too far in, so that your planner gapes a bit, or you leave some of it sticking over the edge of the pages, which isn't ideal. Again, I was expecting it to sit flush, like the TN equivalent. Having said that, this one does have a "TODAY" tab, which I find quite useful.
In short, for the money, it's fine, but could be better.
