J. Herbin is the world's oldest name in fountain pen ink, having been established by Monsieur Herbin in 1670. M. Herbin's famous Perle des Encres (The Jewel of Inks) pen ink was created in his shop on the Rue des Fosses Saint-Germain in Paris in 1700.
