Sanzen, the new manufacturer of the esteemed Tomoe River paper, acquired the rights after the previous owner ceased production in 2021. Drawing on their experience since 1976, Sanzen re-engineered the paper's formula, combining hardwood pulp (eucalyptus) and softwood pulp (pine) to achieve superior quality.
The updated paper is 5 microns thicker, offering a slightly firmer feel and improved durability. It handles erasers more effectively and has a reduced drying time for fountain pen ink.
