TRAVELER'S Notebook's No. 013 Lightweight Paper refill is truly remarkable paper. For those who would prefer to have more pages in their notebook, at the cost of the thickness of each sheet, Midori has produced a lightweight paper notebook refill. The notebook has 128 pages of lightweight paper (compare to the 64 pages in a normal notebook refill).
We tested this with a variety of pens - ballpoints, rollerballs, fineliners, fountain pens and even highlighters. We were very surprised with the results. While we noticed showthrough with everything from a ballpoint to a fountain pen, there was no bleed or feathering at all with any of the pens we used for testing. Considering how thin the paper is, this is pretty extraordinary and testament to the quality of this Japanese paper.

This paper is superb.
I use fountain pens and this paper will take whatever you throw at it with zero feathering.
If you like paper, you'll love this notebook.
One of my biggest fears is that they'll stop manufacturing these little beauties :-)

TRAVELER'S Notebook -- Refill 013 : Lightweight Paper
A huge fan of the Midori range, able to shape it to fit your own style. This particular paper is beautiful to use whilst being practical in a number of ways. Having tried a number of different inks (from various pen types) I would say that whilst it's a joy to write on, there is some show through but this doesn't seem to effect the ability to use both sides of the page thankfully, being some what heavy handed times. I haven't had the unfortunate mishap of ink bleeding or anything, as the ink has dried quite quickly for me (or I could simply be a slow writer, not having bothered to time myself...lol!). And, doodling or sketching, whatever your preference, is still a joy. The paper holds the graphite very well but, while trying to blend for shading, it didn't seem to work too well. If have to say that I'm not the most skilled in this area and my own abilities could very well be the issue here. I'm incredibly happy however and will continue to buy more, for as long as my purse allows at least.

TRAVELER'S Notebook -- Refill 013 : Lightweight Paper
I use two of these refills in my Midori - one for work notes, one for personal notes. The paper behaves superbly with a fountain pen, is a gorgeous ivory colour, is thin enough to mean you can pack an absurd number of sheets into a very small space, and feels smooth as silk to the touch and to write on. I've got through six of them in the last 12 months, and I keep on buying them.

I am a long time fan of this and whenever I used to read reviews saying Tomoe River paper was the best in the world I would think there is no way it could be better than this paper. I have recently discovered that this IS Tomoe RIver paper. So I now say - believe the hype - this is the best paper in the world. An absolute dream for fountain pen users.
