Kakimori
Kakimori's home is one of Tokyo’s old shitamachi (downtown) neighbourhoods where craftsmanship remains well and truly alive, with small manufacturing workshops and factories lining the streets. Kakimori has been nurtured by the area and its people since the day they began.
Most famous for their beautiful highly pigmented inks, quality is a word synonymous with Kakimori but attention to detail is also something they strive to achieve throughout their product and never fails to impress. Ever noticed how the ink bottles are shaped like droplets? This is intentionally inspired by potari, a Japanese word for a falling drop. Playful onomatopoeia are much loved in Japan and are expressed through Kakimori's inks, bringing a world of colour to life.
