Tomoe River [Sanzen Paper] A5 Soft Cover Notebook 52gsm White

£12.99

Tomoe River Japanese paper is a favourite among those who appreciate fine writing paper. Known for its ultra-thin and velvety smooth texture, it is ideal for fountain pens and ink pens. Now produced by SANZEN, this paper maintains the same high quality as the original Tomoe River Fountain Pen Paper by Tomoegawa.

This classic soft black cover blank notebook features Tomoe River FP papers, perfect for bullet journaling, daily planning, drawing, and note-taking. The stitched binding allows the journal to lay flat for easy writing. Its matte black textured cardstock cover is soft and flexible yet durable enough to protect the pages inside.

This premium notebook contains 160 pages (80 sheets) of fine paper in Plain, Dot Grid and Grid paper types. At only 0.5 cm thick, the Tomoe River Journal is convenient to carry. The artistic-grade plain paper is designed for smooth gliding of fountain pens, providing exceptionally sharp lines and beautiful ink shades. Despite its lightweight 52 gsm, the paper is smudge and feather resistant, handling various inks and pen tips with minimal ghosting thanks to a special coating on both sides.

The silver Tomoe River logo on the cover is a mark of authenticity, signifying the genuine product made and imported from Japan. The white paper is in DIN A5 format (21 x 15 cm) and is pH neutral. Made in Japan.

New Tomoe River Paper
Sanzen, the new custodian of the renowned Tomoe River paper, acquired the rights after the original manufacturer ceased production in 2021. With a history of producing 52 gsm paper since 1976, Sanzen has leveraged its expertise to re-engineer the classic formula, blending hardwood (eucalyptus) and softwood (pine) pulps to achieve superior quality.

The enhanced Sanzen Tomoe River paper is now 5 microns thicker, providing a slightly firmer feel and improved durability. It also offers better performance with erasers and a reduced drying time for fountain pen ink, making it perfect for all your writing needs.
