By Diamine
$3.00

Diamine's excellent quality ink in international standard short cartridges. The cartridges are an easier solution for when you don't want the fuss of refilling your fountain pen using a converter and ink bottle or perhaps for when you want to carry your favourite ink out with you, or keep spares in a pencil case. When tested, Diamine inks perform beautifully in all kinds of fountain pens - no feathering and very, very minimal show-through. The drying time is quick so you can turn the page without worrying about it smearing or spending time using blotting paper in a bid to mop up the excess!

The inks are highly water soluble so mistakes can be erased. The colours are vibrant, rich and really interesting - depending on the shade chosen, you can pick up different hues in different lighting. In short, you'll love using Diamine ink and you'll appreciate the smooth way in which it flows and facilitates your writing.

About the brand

Diamine have a rich history of ink production dating back to 1864, making them one of the oldest ink brands. The company was founded in England - Liverpool to be precise - and first incorporated under the trading name T.W. Webster Co. Ltd using 'Diamine' as their trademark. To this day, Diamine (as they're now known) are still based in Liverpool and have been producing inks for over 150 years! What's even more impressive is that the company is still family owned, which is admirable considering how long they've been in business. An interesting fact about Diamine is that they weren't always solely producing ink - surprising? Perhaps a little, but back then they actually specialised in the manufacture and supply of waxes and stains to the leather goods industry. They also supplied blackboard renovator, gum and inks to bookshops in West Africa as well as specialised ink colours to banks...they've certainly had an interesting past and with the revival of fountain pen use in the late 1990's, Diamine re-launched their ink brand as we know it today. We love brands with a rich past and buying something from a brand like Diamine really does feel like you're buying a little bit of the long and exciting history of the company.
