About the brand
Diamine have a rich history of ink production dating back to 1864, making them one of the oldest ink brands. The company was founded in England - Liverpool to be precise - and first incorporated under the trading name T.W. Webster Co. Ltd using 'Diamine' as their trademark. To this day, Diamine (as they're now known) are still based in Liverpool and have been producing inks for over 150 years! What's even more impressive is that the company is still family owned, which is admirable considering how long they've been in business. An interesting fact about Diamine is that they weren't always solely producing ink - surprising? Perhaps a little, but back then they actually specialised in the manufacture and supply of waxes and stains to the leather goods industry. They also supplied blackboard renovator, gum and inks to bookshops in West Africa as well as specialised ink colours to banks...they've certainly had an interesting past and with the revival of fountain pen use in the late 1990's, Diamine re-launched their ink brand as we know it today. We love brands with a rich past and buying something from a brand like Diamine really does feel like you're buying a little bit of the long and exciting history of the company.
